【 Condition & Display 】 The exhibits consist of two large, original black-and-white silver gelatin portrait photographs. After nearly seventy years, the photographic paper has developed a warm, historical patina, remaining in remarkably pristine condition. Mr. Chiang Kai-shek’s inscription was executed in physical ink using a traditional Chinese brush. The dense ink on the right reads “To Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Carney,” and the left is signed “Gifted by Chiang Chung-cheng, January 30, 1955,” revealing profound calligraphic skill and a commander’s majesty. Madame Soong Mei-ling’s portrait captures her composed demeanor, and her signature flows elegantly in English ink, highlighting her international perspective
